Brighton High School Choirs - Two Curricular Choirs

The curricular choirs are Bella Voce and Concert Choir.   These groups perform at our four annual concerts – Fall, Holiday, Pre-Festival and Spring Spectacular.  They also have additional performances scheduled throughout the year.

Bella Voce (Treble 1/2) is our Intermediate women’s group.  The audition for Bella Voce includes singing a classical selection from a past choir or from work in a voice lesson and sight-reading at a High School Primary Level by yourself. Past leadership in class is also considered.  They participate in District Choral Festival, and consistently receive ratings of “Excellent”, with scores exceeding 110 out of 120 possible points. Students are encouraged to participate as soloists at District Solo and Ensemble Festival.

Concert Choir (Treble 3/ Tenor-Bass) is the advanced mixed voice class. They participate in District Choral Festival and regularly receive ratings of “Excellent” and attain scores exceeding 116 out of 120 possible points.  Concert Choir was selected as one of two choirs in the state of Michigan to perform at Michigan Youth Arts Festival as an Outstanding Choir in 2018.

Speak with the BHS counseling office to sign up for one of these classes, or see Mr. Johnson in the choir room to arrange for an audition.
